Orwell Quay.
Decorative roof structure to compliment a contemporary glass-fronted building. Landmark building and focal point for the recently completed residential development overlooking the quay. Asymmetric double conic with canted masts of different lengths, with caps of differing sizes. Mounted on 2-storey flat roof building with tie rods to first floor balconies and ground level.

Challenges in the design included a complex canopy form and steelwork design due to opposing direction of the two masts and differing sizes of cap to each mast. Anchor points were installed in the roof and around the building for the steel framework and tie rods, then the design modified to reflect changes on site.

Challenges during installation were the quayside location and a tight space within which to work meant careful planning of the sequence of installation. Install went very smoothly without any problems.
